Juanita “Nita” Hubert Yaklin, a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 24, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born in Midland, Texas, June 27, 1945, she spent her childhood in San Antonio, where she built the foundation for a life rooted in love, family, and faith. A believer through and through, Nita loved the Lord deeply and never missed an opportunity to share her testimony of Christ with others. Her faith shaped the way she lived, loved, and served.
Nita was married to her first husband, Dr. Earl T. Hubert Jr., for 40 beautiful years until his passing in 2008. Together, they lovingly raised four children. Nita also worked alongside Earl in their family-owned veterinary clinic, handling the bookkeeping and supporting the business with dedication. While caring for the children as a stay-at-home mom, Nita also gave generously of her time as a volunteer for the Institute of Texan Cultures and was an active member of the Aggie Wives Club, where she built lifelong friendships and offered encouragement to others. In her later years she enjoyed serving as a volunteer at the Christus Spohn Hospital Kleberg.
Nita is survived by her children Roger (Cheryl) Hubert, Tracy (John) Beadle, Stephen “Skeeter” (Bonnie) Hubert, and Scott (Helen) Hubert. Nita was immensely proud of her children and the families they built. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren whom she adored: Sydney Tetens, Jayson, Jaclyn and Jayden Hubert; Travis (Shelby), Justin, Stephen, and John Christopher Beadle; Olivia, Blake and Kyle Hubert, and Serenity (Alejandro) Vega; Zachary, Christopher and Ella Hubert. Great grandchildren Cooper, Hallie and Jemma Beadle and Leo Sarniguet, Janie Vega, and Noah Vega. Nita cherished every moment she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, considering each of them a treasured gift.
Later in life, Nita found companionship again with her second husband, Dale Yaklin, with whom she shared 11 meaningful years. Through this union, she gained a large and loving extended family, all of whom she welcomed with warmth and kindness: Tommy (Diane “Sissy”) Yaklin, David (Michaele) Yaklin, Roy Yaklin; Terry (Dana) Yaklin, Billy (Margie De la Rosa) Yaklin, and Randy Yaklin.
Her extended family blessed her with 11 more grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Nita treated each member of this extended family with genuine affection, never missing an opportunity to offer her support, wisdom, and love.
Nita was preceded in death by her late husband Dr. Earl T. Hubert Jr.; mother, Lois Bush; father, Elmer Janes; and mother and father-in-law, Earl and Luella Hubert.
A woman of many talents and a heart full of care, Nita found joy in life’s simple but meaningful moments. She loved quilting and lovingly created many quilts that her family continues to cherish—each stitch a reflection of her patience, creativity, and comforting spirit.
Nita’s life was a testament to faith, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever live in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, yet fondly remembered, by her family, her friends, and all whose lives she touched.
A celebration of life for Juanita Yaklin will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Kingsville, Texas; a burial will follow at Our Lady of Consolation Cemetery at Vattmann. A catered lunch will follow at Vattmann Hall.
