Jose Rene Garcia Jr.

Jose Rene “JR” Garcia Jr., 39, passed away on October 23, 2019 in Alice Texas. He was born on November 7, 1979 in Kingsville, Texas to Jose Rene Garcia Sr. and Nora Hinojosa Garcia.

“JR” worked for the King Ranch for 13 years as a Cowboy. He later became a Unit Manager in the Laureles Divison of the King Ranch. JR’s knowledge and loyal work ethic led him to the Wagner Ranch where he served as a Ranch Manager for over 5 years.

JR worked hard and played hard. Some of his passions included ranch rodeos, team roping, hunting, and fishing. His father, Borrado, and his children, Derek and Ava, frequently accompanied JR hunting and fishing.   JR loved his children with all his heart and was a devoted father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Spending quality family time was very important to JR. His mom, Nora, and his sister, Prissy and her family, would join family bbqs and softball games. JR’s undivided attention during family time will serve as lifelong memories. JR’s love of family, work, life and friends will be lovingly remembered.

He is survived by his parents, Jose Rene Garcia Sr. and Nora Hinojosa Garcia, his children, Derek Ryan Garcia and Ava Rae Garcia, sister Priscilla “Prissy” Garcia (Lamar Garcia), Fiancée, Teresa Lourdes Garcia, Niece, Pamela Lerma, Great Nieces and Nephews, Bailey Nicole Munoz, Abriella Rae Garcia and Mateo Cristian Lerma, several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Turcotte – Piper Mortuary with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gertrude Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Chamberlin Cemetery. There will be a reception with meal served at the Henrietta Memorial Center from 1p.m.-3p.m.
