Josephine Ramos Mendietta, born on July 8th, 1949, passed away on Wednesday, July 29th, 2026, at the age of 77. She leaves behind a legacy of deep faith in God, instilled in her by her mother, and devotion to her family.
Josephine devoted her life to being the caregiver of her family and helping her husband of 56 years run their business, WW Welding, until it closed. She instilled in her family values of great faith, strength, integrity, and, most of all, unconditional love.
In her spare time, she enjoyed displaying her artistic side through freehand drawing, knitting, woodburning, and sewing. She had a love for spending time near the water with her children, whether it was at the beach, the river in Sabinas Hidalgo, or the Frio River. She was a lover of many animals, but mourning doves and dragonflies were her two favorites to sit and watch. One of the things she treasured most daily was making calls to her loved ones to check on them and praying her rosary.
As the saying goes, we are all here on borrowed time, so make life’s moments count. All honor and glory to God for letting us borrow her because what a blessing she was to us. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Like Josephine’s mother used to say when bidding farewell--Que Dios te bendiga y hasta mañana si Dios quiere--mi querida mama.
She is preceded in death here by her parents, Ernestina Robles Ramos and Edward Ramos, and her brother, Guadalupe Ramos.
Among those left behind to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted husband, Guillermo Mendietta; children, Anna Marie, LeeRoy (Sonya), and Georgina (Mario); siblings, Raymond (Irma), Betty (Oscar), Edward (Lisa), Maggie (Agapito), Frances (Eulogio), Diana (John); and.
several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive condolences on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary; with a holy rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. and liturgy celebrated at 7:00 p.m. Services will conclude that evening.
