Jose Manuel Hernandez

Jose Manuel Hernandez age 72 of Kingsville Texas passed away January 30, 2022 and is now with our heavenly father. Jose was born on March 19, 1949, to Manuel and Oralia Hernandez in Corpus Christi Texas.

After growing up in Laureles Ranch, Jose was drafted into the US Army and went on to fight in the Vietnam War. After being discharged from the United States Army he became a firefighter at the Naval Base Kingsville. He went on to meet his wife of 33 years Mary Lou Hernandez who was his heart they had 5 children Marisa, Hope, Mary Jo, Joe Jr. And Ruby Lu Hernandez. They together moved to Iowa where Jose was employed with the Winnebago in Cedar Rapids Iowa as a Welder. Jose was a wonderful and exceptional father and husband. He worked hard for his family and proud of his accomplishments in life. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren enjoyed family time and barbecues listening to Tejano oldies and spending time outdoors with a great cup of coffee.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Lou; his son, Jose Jr. and daughter, Ruby Lu Hernandez.

He is survived by his stepson Abel Garcia; daughters, Marisa Hernandez of Kingsville TX, Hope Hernandez of Corpus Christi,TX and Mary Jo Hernandez of Kingsville TX; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

The family will receive condolences on Tuesday February 8, 2022, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; military honors at 6:30 PM, then a rosary at 7:00 PM..  Services will conclude that evening.
