Jose L. Zavala

Jose Luis Zavala, 52, went to be with the Lord on November 23. He was born on June 26, 1969, to the late Juan & Juanita Zavala, and raised in Ricardo, Texas.

Jose moved to Houston to begin his new journey as a self-employed massage therapist. He enjoyed every moment that he was able to provide comfort and make people feel special.  Jose was currently employed with MD Anderson Cancer Center and was also pursuing his dream of becoming a nurse. Jose loved everyone, he always brightened up the room with his radiant smile and his positive and cheerful attitude. He was a man of God and a wonderful family man. In addition to his dedication to his family, he also served as a board member in his apartment complex and dedicated himself to always helping others.

Preceded in Death by his mother & father, Juan & Juanita Zavala, grandparents, Juan & Clementina Zavala and Canuto & Paulita Trevino, and his brother Juan Zavala III.

Survivors include: his wife of thirteen years, Juana Zavala, and two children, April (11) and Sebastian (7); brothers and sisters, Roberto (Diana) Zavala, Ramon (Mary) Zavala, Daniel (Norma) Zavala, Gerardo (Aimee) Zavala, Maria Inez (Gilbert) Acosta, Graciela (Darrel) Munoz, Margarita (Johnny) Soliz and Idolina (Celedonio) Cortez; numerous nieces and nephews and many cousins.

Pallbearers will be Robert Zavala Jr, Darrel Munoz Jr, Gerardo Zavala Jr, Ramon Zavala, Javier Soliz, Steven Lopez III, Dylan Dean (Dino) Munoz, Addison James Perez. Honorary Pallbearers are Juan Zavala IV, Celedonio Cortez IV and Gerry Crooks.

Visitation will be on Monday, November 29, 2021, at Turcotte- Piper Mortuary, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A mass will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at St. Gertrude the Great Catholic Church in Kingsville. Interment to follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
