Jose F. Montalvo

Jose Francisco R. Montalvo, 81, of Ricardo passed away on January 9, 2023. He was born on December 4, 1941, in Laureles Ranch to Francisco V. and Valeriana R. Montalvo.

He was a proud Vaquero for King Ranch- Laureles Division for 51 years where he retired; he was a proud Kineño.  Jose was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather, uncle, and friend.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel S. Montalvo; parents; sisters, Lina M. Vela, and Francisca M. Mendietta; brothers, Jesus R. Montalvo and Braulio R. Montalvo.

Among those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Patsy Montalvo of Ricardo, and Priscilla M. Garcia of Kingsville; sisters, Oralia M. Saldana, Mercedes Kunkel, Sylvia M. Garcia, Angelita M. Hernandez, and Lydia M. Ortiz; 4 grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will receive condolences on Friday, January 13, 2023, at Turcotte Piper Mortuary, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM.  Services will conclude that evening.
