Jose J. Alegria, a man whose life was a testament to hard work, kindness, and unwavering love, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 29, 2024, at the age of 86. He was born in Sarita, Texas to Felipe, Sr. and Jacinta Alegria. Described by many as kind, loving, and caring, Jose's warm personality left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him. A natural jokester with a strong will, he brought lightness and laughter to even the toughest of days.
Jose's career path was as diverse as it was impressive, starting with his dedicated service to the Kenedy Ranch before transitioning to the City of Kingsville. His skills and passion later led him to the King Ranch and First Baptist Church, where he excelled as a cowboy and skilled heavy machine operator. To those who knew him in these roles, Jose was not just a coworker but a mentor and friend.
Beyond his work life, Jose found joy in simple pleasures. From watching sports games, especially those of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns football teams, to indulging in his hobbies of hunting and fishing, he embraced each moment with enthusiasm. However, nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his cherished family and friends.
In the hearts of those who survive him, Jose leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication. He will be deeply missed by his friends and colleagues from the City of Kingsville, First Baptist Church, Kenedy Ranch, and King Ranch. His memory will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched with his generous spirit.

Alegria; grandson, Adrian “Bubba” Salazar; parents, Felipe Sr., and Jacinta Alegria; siblings, Teresa Silvas, Guadalupe Alegria, Filomena Martinez, Maria Elena Gonzalez, Felipe Alegria, Jr., and Matilde Rivera; in-laws, Felix and Angelita Rodriguez.
