Jose Hector Perez

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of José Héctor Perez, lovingly known as “La Uva,” who passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on April 22, 2025, at the age of 66. Born in Edinburgh on July 16, 1958, to Abelino and Victoria Castillo Perez, Hector brought joy and warmth to all who knew him.

An esteemed employee of Kenedy County for over three decades, Hector dedicated himself to his work with unwavering commitment and a generous spirit. His love for sports, particularly baseball, at which he played for most of his adult years, was reflected in both his passions and pastimes, where he thrived. A devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, he found camaraderie and excitement in every game, sharing these cherished moments with friends and family.

Hector leaves behind his beloved sisters, Herlinda (Antonio) Morales of Freer and Rebecca Treviño of Ricardo, and a cherished brother, Ramiro (Rebecca) Perez of Sarita. He was surrounded by the love of numerous nieces and nephews, each holding dear memories that will forever honor his vibrant spirit.

He is reunited in the embrace of his parents, Abelino and Victoria Perez, and his siblings, Arnoldo “Cân,” Juanita, Ninfa, Gilberto, and Hilda Perez, who welcomed him into a peaceful reunion.

A visitation will be held on April 28, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in Kingsville, followed by a funeral service starting at 7:00 PM.

As we gather to celebrate Hector's life, we remember a man who lived fully and loved deeply. His legacy will endure through the countless lives he touched, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those he cherished. May he rest in eternal peace, carrying with him the love of family and friends that will never fade.
