Jose (Joe) G. Muguerza Jr., beloved brother, entered into eternal rest on August 31, 2025.
Joe was born on February 5, 1947, in Kingsville, Texas, and later made his home in Lincoln, Texas. He was a proud graduate of H.M. King High School, where he first began his trade studies through the Vocational Industrial Club of America (VICA). His early interest in craftsmanship grew into a lifelong talent as an accomplished carpenter and woodworker.
Following high school, Joe worked at both Texas A&I and Lamar University as a kitchen chef, an opportunity that also allowed him to attend culinary school. He later became a welder’s helper and pipefitter in Beaumont, Texas, before building a long career with Amoco BP at the Chocolate Bayou plant as an operations technician. He proudly built his own home and barn in Arcadia, Texas, where he lived and worked until retiring after 27 years of dedicated service. He then enjoyed his retirement years in Lincoln, Texas.
Outside of his career, Joe was deeply passionate about genealogy. He meticulously researched and documented his family’s history, leaving behind a rich legacy of knowledge as a treasured gift to his loved ones. He also found joy in hunting, fishing, and woodworking, hobbies that reflected his love for the outdoors and creativity with his hands.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jose S. Muguerza, and his mother, Herminia G. Muguerza.
Among those left to cherish his memory are his brother, Lee Muguerza, and his sisters, Velma Jane Muguerza Crumpler and Linda Ann Muguerza. He will be remembered with love for his kindness, his many talents, and his devotion to family.
The family will receive condolences on Saturday, September 13, 2025, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in Kingsville, Texas.
