Joel Dominguez, Jr.

Joel Dominguez, Jr., a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away peacefully on December 11, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born on June 16, 1947.

Joel had a vibrant personality that attracted people from all walks of life. He was very social and could make friends with anyone he met. His outgoing and caring nature endeared him to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. A proud military veteran, Joel served in the army and dedicated himself to his country. His commitment to service was an admirable trait that he carried throughout his life. In his free time, Joel enjoyed watching westerns and people-watching. He found solace in nature and loved fishing and spending time outdoors. Traveling with his beloved wife was another passion they shared together. Additionally, Joel enjoyed the thrill of gambling with his wife; it brought them entertainment and joy.

Joel is preceded in death by his parents Joel Dominguez and Juanita Lomas; his beloved wife of 47 years, Maria "Dalia" Dominguez daughter Laura Soriano; sister Olga Dominguez; and grandson Julian Reyna.

Joel's memory will forever be cherished by his surviving family members: children Veronica (Ray) Reyna, Angela Dominguez, Robert Joel (Michelle) Dominguez, Tina (Gaspar) Ramirez, Barbie Pena, Joel (Sandra) De La Paz; siblings Ofelia Delano, Alicia (Bob) Galvan, Mary Jane (Jacito) Macias, Joe (Josie) Dominguez; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members.

To honor the memory of Joel Dominguez Jr., visitation services will be held at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary on December 14th from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, followed by a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated the following day, December 15th, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church at 10:00 AM. Following the mass, a rite of committal and interment with military honors will take place at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.

The family would like to express their most sincere gratitude for the care taken by the staff at Harbor Hospice: Dolores, Priscilla, Mark, and Raymond.
