Joaquin Barraza Sr.

Joaquin Barraza Sr., 96, died peacefully on March 17, 2019. He was born in Sarita, Texas on March 20, 1922, to Simon Barraza and Victoria Mesa Barraza. He was a life long resident and small business owner of Kingsville, and a WWII veteran.
His wife Frances, his daughter Frances, his grandson Ben, brothers Adan and Santiago and sisters Juanita and Eva, preceded him in death. Joaquin is survived by his daughters Santa of Kingsville, Margarita of Kingsville, Alicia (Doug) of Albany, NY, and his sons Eloy (Yvonne) of Corpus Christi and Joaquin Barraza Jr. (Maggie) of Cedar Park, TX. He is also survived by his brother Santos of Dixon, CA, eight grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Turcotte-Piper, with interment following at Chamberlain Cemetery.
