Jesus M. "Jesse" Trevino passed away peacefully April 5, 2019, at the young age of 88. He attended Roma High School. Jesse served with the US Navy aboard the USS Manchester during the Korean Conflict for 4 years. After his military service, he graduated from Texas A&I University in 1959 with an agriculture degree. He worked several years abroad with the USDA and loved his job in soil conservation. Jesse, his wife, and children eventually settled in Hempstead, TX where he worked at Prairie View A&M University until his retirement. Jesse and Carolyn retired to a beautiful house in Canyon Lake, TX. After the passing of his beautiful wife, he moved to Kingsville, TX to be by his best friend and only granddaughter Kathryne.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn C. Trevino: son, Charles Travis Bexar Trevino, four sisters and seven brothers.
Jesse is survived by his daughter, Sara Starr (Roddy), granddaughter Kathryne, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Turcotte Piper Mortuary Chapel. A Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 1:00 p.m. on April 11, 2019, at St. Martin's Catholic Church. Graveside service will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. on April 12, 2019, at Hempstead Cemetery in Hempstead, TX. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to A&M University of Kingsville to the Agriculture Dept.
