Jennifer Vela

Jennifer Vela went to be with our heavenly father on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the age of 39. She was a graduate of King High School and a certified pharmacy tech; and she was a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend; she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Abelardo “Lalo” Vela and Maria E. “Nana” Vela; and uncles, Eduardo Vela and Martin Vela.

Among those left to honor and treasure her memory are her twin daughters, Kamila Houston and Jayla Houston; husband, Kevin Houston; parents, Abelardo “Mocho” and Eliza Vela; brother, Tres Vela; sister, Sonja Vela; maternal grandparents, Noe and Amalia Gonzales; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

The family will receive condolences on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A mass of christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 20, 2022, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Sarita, TX. A rite of committal and interment will follow at Riviera Cemetery in Riviera, TX.
