Carolyn Bromley, age 83, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026. Carolyn was born and raised in Riviera, Texas, where she attended school and developed a lifelong love for her community. She attended Texas A&I University in Kingsville, pursuing her passion for education. Carolyn dedicated her career to teaching in Ricardo Independent School District, where she faithfully served students and families for many years before retiring. After retirement, Carolyn enjoyed being a substitute teacher at Riviera Independent School District. Carolyn also assisted her husband, Jerry, with his business at Jerry’s Gun Shop in Kingsville, Texas until his retirement. Carolyn was a faithful board member of the Riviera Cemetery Association for many years until her health declined.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Marcus and Queen May; her beloved husband, Jerry Bromley; and her brother, Jerry Malin.
She is survived by her nephew and nieces, Rodney Malin, Denise Tait, and Cherie Emmons, her grand-nieces, Kelly Emmons and Krissa Emmons, as well as her beloved cousins, all of whom she cherished.
Carolyn found joy in working with her hands and was especially talented in ceramics, needlework, and sewing. She loved to cook for others and took great pride in caring for her ranch, where she spent many meaningful hours surrounded by the land she loved.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Lone Star Rehabilitation Center for the compassionate care and kindness shown to Carolyn during her time there.
Carolyn will be remembered for her dedication to education, her creativity, her strong work ethic, and her caring spirit. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.
A graveside service will be conducted on February 18, 2026 at 10:00 am at the Riviera Cemetery in Riviera, Texas.
