Jim Reisner died in Plano, Texas on September 14, 2021. He was born in Falfurrias on his Dad’s birthday, March 12, 1953. Jim grew up near Kingsville, attending Ricardo School through 8th grade and then Presbyterian Pan American School for High School. He graduated from Texas A&M in 1972 and from the University of Texas Law School in 1975.
After being admitted to the bar he decided he did not want to practice law and went to work at the Falfurrias bank. After a short time there he entered a training program for computer programmers with an insurance company in Galveston. After stints as a main frame programmer in Galveston, Oklahoma City, and Columbus, Ohio, Jim spent most of his career at Texas Instruments in Plano.
Although he didn’t travel much, soon after his father died in 1990, Jim took his mother on a memorable trip to England and her birthplace in Scotland which she hadn’t visited since her childhood. He was a wonderful uncle to his two nieces and two nephews and was known for outstanding Christmas presents. He took early retirement from Texas Instruments and enjoyed being able to devote more time to follow local, professional and Aggie sports teams. He maintained detailed records on his favorite teams and players. He also wrote several novels which he never submitted for publication.
Jim was predeceased by his parents - Sherwood and Elena Reisner, and a great niece- Lucy Mae Greco. He is survived by his sister Ruth Brock, brother in law, Gerald Brock, nieces – Jane Greco and Sara Kirkwood, nephews – David Brock and Jimmy Brock, 12 great nephews and 1 great niece.
