With heavy hearts, we remember and celebrate the life of Iselda Chapa, born November 1, 1959, in Hebbronville, Texas, who passed away on August 18, 2026, at the age of 66 with her sons by her side. Iselda’s journey was marked by her extraordinary kindness and unwavering devotion to those she loved, leaving a legacy of warmth, strength, and grace.
From her earliest days, Iselda was the embodiment of a caring spirit—a beautiful lady inside and out, whose loving nature touched all she met. Those who knew her will never forget her heart of gold. She was known not only for her gentle compassion, but also for her honest and straightforward approach, a rare quality that inspired respect and admiration in everyone she encountered.
Iselda's greatest joy in life was her family. She was fiercely proud of being a mother, raising her two boys and nurturing them with tough love, and wisdom. Her dedication and hard work shaped her sons, and she cherished every moment spent watching them grow. Later in life, Iselda found immeasurable happiness as a grandmother. Her granddaughters were the light of her world, and she found her greatest delight in sharing time and laughter with them.
Family was the cornerstone of Iselda’s life. She loved creating special memories, gathering around a good Texas barbecue, enjoying lively music, or simply dancing with those she loved. Sunday afternoons often found her cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, another passion that brought her unbridled excitement and connection with her relatives and friends.
Her life was a beautiful dance of resilience and warmth, marked by an unwavering commitment to her family. Iselda’s love was a sheltering embrace, offering comfort and encouragement through the inevitable storms of life. The values she instilled, the love she lavished, and the memories she created remain her legacy.
Iselda Chapa’s loving spirit remains ever-present—in every song shared, every barbecue enjoyed, every touchdown cheered on, and above all, in the hearts of her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
She is preceded in death by the father of her children, Guadalupe Guajardo, Jr; parents, Luis and Petra (Sauceda) Chapa; brother, Luis Chapa, Jr.; and sisters, Elma Guerra and Gloria Valdez.
Among those left to cherish her memory are her loving sons, Guadalupe Guajardo, III. and Benjamin Omar (Vicky) Guajardo; her precious granddaughters, Anisa Guajardo, Sophia Guajardo, and Olivia Guajardo; sisters, Nilda (Joel) Ybañez, Lucila Morales, Diana (Antonio) Saenz, Anabella Chapa, Irma (Leovardo) Canales, and Noelia (Joel) Almaraz; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
