Homer Gutierrez

Homer D. Gutierrez, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at the age of 76. Homer was a kind loving father and grandfather and would do anything for his family. He loved to work on classic cars, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren; he also enjoyed working on his yard, and planting on his spare time. Homer proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war. He was a business owner for many years before retiring and was always one to help others especially his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Nelda Gutierrez; brothers, Macario Gutierrez, Jr. and Leonires Gutierrez.

Among those left to cherish his memory is his daughters, Eva (Gabriel) Orta and Lahoma Garcia; siblings, Gloria Ambriz, Ovidio Gutierrez, Margie Beltran, Isaac (Elia) Gutierrez; grandchildren, Nicholas Roberts, Izaiah Orta, Dezorae Orta, Izaac Orta, Lance Garcia, and Kelley Ozuna; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will receive condolences on Sunday, January 8, 2022, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM; with a prayer service to be held at 6:00 PM. A chapel service will take place on Monday, January 9, 2022, at 12:00 pm, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. A rite of committal and interment with military honors will follow at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.
