Helen Mary (Miller) Brown was born on November 1,1936, in Delhi, Iowa. She passed on August 20, 2026, in Kingsville at the age of 89. She was a very energetic person, who loved to dance to her old country music and loved her family. People that knew her often described her as a "spitfire".

Helen completed 12th grade in Dundee, lowa in 1955. She married Richard L. Brown shortly thereafter, who had just returned from the Korean Conflict in the Marine Corp. Helen worked at the Fareway grocery store in Manchester for over 20 years before retiring and moving to Texas to be with family. She loved her family and ensured we had everyone together for the holidays and stuck with family traditions: such as making homemade ice cream on Christmas Eve every year.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Brown. Her parents Lyle & Pearl (Turner) Miller. Granddaughter, Sarah Kemmer of NM. Sisters: Mae Kaenan, Dorothy Pinch, Harriet McCusker. Brothers: Archie, Harry, Clifford, Raymond, Roy, and George. Helen was the youngest of 10 kids.

She is survived by her daughter, Carina (Brown) Gonzales, and her husband, Don, of Bishop, Texas; their children, Christopher Gonzales and his wife, Stacy, of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Stephanie (Gonzales) Rogers and her husband, Jim, of Corpus Christi, Texas; great-grandchildren Makinna Rogers, Lillian Rogers, and Olivia Rogers. Son, Richard D. Brown, and his wife, Mary, of Bishop, Texas; their children, Samantha Katz and Jessica (Brown) Garcia, and her husband, Justin, of Bulverde, Texas; great-granddaughter Morgan Caperton; and great-grandsons Colton and Blake Garcia.

Funeral Service will be held at Retama Park Baptist Church 515 E. General Cavazos, Kingsville TX on Wednesday, August 26" at 10:30 am with visitation and lunch to follow at the church.

The family would like for you to remember her as a loving Christian woman loved the Lord and read his word every day. Devoted to her family, always smiling and busy. Filled her days cooking, baking, tending to her garden and caring for all Gods animals. The family was told by one of her friends that they thought she was actually talking with the birds and they understood her!
