Hector Vidaurri, age 64, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2017 in Corpus Christi, Texas surrounded by his family. He was born December 4, 1952 in Kingsville, Texas to I.Q. Vidaurri and Jilma Guevara Vidaurri. Hector was a 1971 graduate of H.M. King High School and a 1975 graduate of Texas A&I University. He coached football for Brownsville I.S.D. and Odem I.S.D. Hector was employed by E.I. Dupont for 20 years. He had a passion for music and was a self-taught drummer. Over the years he played with various musical groups including Beto Leal, Ray Ramos, Joe Cisneros and Ram Chavez. Hector enjoyed sports. His favorite teams were the Raiders, Astros, Spurs and U.T. Longhorns. Hector was of the Catholic faith.
He was preceded in death by his father, I.Q. Vidaurri.
Hector is survived by his wife, Rosamar Guerra Vidaurri of Corpus Christi; two daughters, Marissa Iris Vidaurri of Austin, Texas and Kristi Vidaurri-Foley (James) of Houston, Texas; mother, Jilma Guevara Vidaurri of Kingsville; one sister, Nelda Rodriguez (Rene) of Corpus Christi; one brother, David Vidaurri (Victoria) of Houston; one grandson, Luke Aidan Vidaurri-Panko; and one granddaughter, Lauren Montgomery Foley.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 20, 2017 at St. Martin's Catholic Church, 715 N. 8th Street, Kingsville. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Kingsville.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and support staff at New Century Hospice for their loving care and compassion.
