Gracie A. Chapa, age 54, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born November 6, 1962 in Vattmann, Texas to Abelardo Jimenez and Esperanza Garcia Jimenez. Gracie was a 1981 graduate of Riviera High School. She was employed for the City of Kingsville Utility Department for 20 years. Presently she was employed as a clerk for Harrel's Drug Store. Gracie was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Angie Garcia and Rosa Cantu; and one brother, Abelardo Jimenez Jr.
Gracie is survived by her husband of 34 years of marriage, Joe David Chapa of Kingsville; two sons, David Eric Chapa (Lisa) and Steven Dallas Chapa, both of Kingsville; five sisters, Yolanda Chavez, Estella Ruiz, Mary Perez, Leo Chavez and Dora Hernandez; six brothers, Samuel Jimenez, Abel Jimenez, Matthew Jimenez, Joe Henry Cano, Robert Jimenez and Danny Jimenez; and five grandchildren, Gabriel Chapa, David Chapa II, Alessandra Chapa, Ellianna Saldana and Devon Saldana.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 25, 2017 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 25, 2017 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at St. Martin's Catholic Church, 715 N. 8th Street, Kingsville.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
