Gloria S. Garcia, beloved mother, wife, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026, at the age of 75.
Born on August 17, 1950, Gloria lived a life centered on caring for others. As a dedicated nurse, she found great fulfillment in helping those in need and brought compassion, kindness, and strength to her work throughout her career. Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her profession and was reflected in the love and support she gave to her family and friends.
Before falling ill, Gloria enjoyed many simple pleasures that brought joy to her life. She loved reading, dancing, listening to music, swimming, and driving around town and the ranchitos she cherished. She looked forward to attending parades in Corpus Christi and spending time browsing house and home magazines. Gloria also had a special love for animals and was always willing to care for family members whenever they needed her. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with her loved ones and created lasting memories through her warmth, generosity, and devotion.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Emilio B. Garcia; her grandson, Andrew Caleb; her mother, Josefa P. Silva; and her brother, Guadalupe A. Garza.
Gloria is survived by her daughter, Annie Sterns (TP Torres); her niece, Linda Blasquez (Rudy); and her nephew, Armando Garza, along with many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss her presence.
The family will receive condolences from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary; with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A mass of christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at St. Martin Catholic Church. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.
Gloria will be remembered for her caring heart, her dedication to family, her love of life, and the countless ways she touched the lives of those around her. Her memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew and loved her.
