Longtime resident of Kingsville, Texas, Glenn Edward Moffitt, passed away on September 11, 2025 in Uvalde, Texas after a long illness. Glenn was born in Baytown, Texas, on March 3, 1937, to parents, Tommie and Inez Moffitt.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Tommie Jean Pooley. Glenn is survived by his wife of 69 years, Marie Gibbs Moffitt, and his sons, Ricky (Nona) Moffitt and Thomas (Tarin) Moffitt. Glenn was “Pops” to four grandchildren: Ashley (Chad) Webster, Stuart (Amanda) Moffitt, Jake (Michelle) Moffitt, and Jordan (Whitney) Moffitt; and nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Glenn was, at one time, a Kingsville police officer for five years, an employee of Exxon Mobil for forty years, and the honorary Mayor of Main Street in Kingsville, Texas, where he presided over the street and greeted visitors and hometown friends from a bench in front of the Tea Room or in front of the King Ranch Saddle Shop.
A visitation with his family will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 5:30PM – 7:30PM at the Turcotte Mortuary in Kingsville, Texas. Graveside services will be held in his honor on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 10:00AM at Chamberlain Cemetary in Kingsville, Texas. The public is invited to attend.
