Gerald Perez, a beloved son, father, and friend, was born on October 4, 1988, in the warm and welcoming city of Corpus Christi, Texas. His sudden departure from this world on October 21, 2026, due to heart failure, leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and cherished him.
Gerald was the cherished son of Janie Perez and the late Edward Perez Sr. His father, along with his older brother, Edward Perez Jr., grandparents Eliberto and Yolanda Reyna, and his aunt Herlinda Vera, predeceased him, leaving a legacy of love and memories that Gerald carried forward. He is survived by his devoted mother, Janie Perez, who was his guiding light, as well as his two precious children, Jason and Maliyha Perez, who were the pride and joy of his life. Gerald also leaves behind a large and loving extended family, including three aunts, four uncles, twenty six cousins, and twenty one great cousins, each of whom will dearly miss his bright spirit.
In his professional life, Gerald found joy in his work as a DoorDash delivery driver, a role that enabled him to explore his community and connect with people from all walks of life. His career was more than just a job; it was an opportunity to share his infectious humor and warmth with everyone he met.
Outside of work, Gerald was a man of vibrant interests and boundless energy. He had a passion for sports, especially basketball and football. The Green Bay Packers and the Los Angeles Lakers were his favorite teams. His love for travel took him to new places, where he embraced new cultures and experiences with open arms. Gerald's ability to find joy and laughter in everyday moments was one of his most defining qualities, and he never missed a chance to share a joke or a kind word to lift the spirits of those around him.
A service to honor and celebrate Gerald's life will be held on November 1, 2026, starting with a visitation at 5:00 p.m. and a prayer service to follow at 7:00 p.m. at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, located at 205 General Cavazos Blvd, Kingsville, Texas. A funeral mass will be held the following day starting at 11:00 a.m. held at St. James Catholic Church in Bishop, Texas with a internment to follow at Restland Cemetery in Bishop, Texas. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of a life that was full of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
Gerald Perez will be forever remembered for his humor, his love for his family, and his ability to bring joy to those around him. His family holds him dearly in their hearts, as they cherish the memories and the light he brought into their lives. Forever in our hearts.
