George Meyer

George E. Meyer of Kingsville, Texas passed away peacefully on Thursday evening surrounded by his family after a very short illness.
Born on June 19, 1932 to Carl and Leota Meyer in Rochester, MN. George was a U.S. Army veteran. He was well known in the Kingsville community as "Mr. Clean" for his bald head and usually with a cigar off to one side of his mouth. George was an entrepreneur. He worked hard at anything that he did. He served breakfast to many patrons in his Kettle restaurants where he had a love for food and the preparation of it. He owned Drilling Materials which provided a lot of job opportunities. He helped many families, something he felt very strongly about. His fondness for the outdoors, sharing his hunting dogs or a shotgun and hunting with his friends and his grandsons is something that everyone who knew George would agree that this is how he would want to be remembered.
George was preceded in death by his only love, Ima Jean Meyer. Also preceded in death were his mother and father; his two brothers, "Red" Meyer and Billy. He is survived by his sisters, Florence Jicha of Corpus Christi and Carlene Read of Portland.
George is also survived by a loving step-daughter, Marsha (Greg) Hopper of Kingsville and step-son, Bill (Beverly) Bauer of George West; and grandchildren, Austin, and William (Carly) Hopper, both of Kingsville and Sarah (Carson) Marquis of New Braunfels; and three great-grandchildren, Riley and Jack Marquis and Miles Hopper.
A private graveside service is planned.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd. Kingsville, Texas.
