Obituary

George Albert Wolfe, beloved husband of Eliza (Vera) Wolfe for more than 26 years, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026, surrounded by his loving family; leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and cherished memories.

Born to Joe C. and Amparo (Garcia) Wolfe on June 25, 1960, and raised in Brownsville, TX. George graduated from Gladys Porter High School in 1980. He was a hardworking, loyal, dependable, and determined man who took great pride in everything he did. Throughout his career, George held several jobs and was especially proud of his many years of service with the State before retiring.

George was known for being organized, always on time, and true to his convictions. His family was his greatest accomplishment. He enjoyed helping on the ranch, tending to the yard, watching westerns and Family Feud, and gathering with loved ones around the barbecue. He was known for cooking a delicious steak and enjoyed relaxing in the backyard with a cold beer and Pandora playing. George also loved taking pictures, sharing them with others, and reminiscing over those memories.

He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Avianna Brielle Garcia; parents, Joe C. and Amparo (Garcia) Wolfe; in-laws, Victor Jr. and Petra (Salinas) Vera; siblings, Mary Delores Wolfe Nave and William Wayne Wolfe; brother-in-law, Victor Vera, III.

Among those left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife, Eliza (Vera) Wolfe; children, George Albert Wolfe, Jr. (Annie), Lyndsay Nicole Wolfe (Peter Porras), Matthew Ryan Wolfe (Crystal), Trisha Laren Garcia (Adam), Brianna Elaine Smith (Cody), and Nathan William Wolfe; grandchildren, William Ryder and Brody Waylon Wolfe, Zelda Isabella and Zolaijah Nani Porras, Micah Charles, Penelope Love, and Waylen Gray Wolfe, and Kase William Bridgland; siblings, Jane Irene Wolfe Willman (Danny), Joseph Valentino Wolfe, and Edna May Wolfe Pena (Joe); in-laws, Esther Vera Cruz, Edwina Vera De Los Santos (Horacio), Magda Leal Vera, Francisco Vera (Ana), and Eunice Gaytan; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will receive condolences from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary; with a eulogy at 3:00 p.m. A mass of christian burial will be celebrated at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026, at St. Martin Catholic Church, Kingsville, TX. A rite of committal and interment will follow at Matias and Victor Vera Family Cemetery, 8520 FM 1329 Concepcion (Rios Community), TX.

George will be remembered for his strong work ethic, loyalty, love of family, and the lasting memories he created with those around him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
