Genoveva G. Hinojosa, a dedicated laundry quality control professional, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at the age of 83. She was a highly respected and meticulous individual who dedicated many years to her career. Born on June 5, 1940, Genoveva's life was marked by her unwavering commitment to excellence in every endeavor she pursued.

Genoveva had an exceptional personality that was characterized by her directness and attention to detail. She approached life with a no-nonsense attitude, always ensuring that things were done accurately and efficiently. Her immense dedication and unwavering work ethic set her apart from others in her field.  Outside of work, Genoveva had a variety of interests and hobbies that brought her joy throughout her life. In her younger years, she had a passion for cooking, delighting her family with delicious meals made with love. The aroma of her culinary masterpieces filled their home, creating lasting memories around the dinner table.

As she grew older, Genoveva enjoyed tending to her garden. It became a sanctuary where she could immerse herself in the beauty of nature. With great care and determination, she cultivated vibrant flowers and nurtured bountiful vegetables. Her green thumb was renowned among friends and neighbors who admired the beauty she created.  Sewing was another beloved pastime for Genoveva; with skillful hands and an eye for detail, she crafted her own beautiful garments that were both casual and formal. Countless loved ones were adorned in the fruits of her labor—each piece a testament to her talent and creativity.

Although Genoveva cherished the comfort of home, nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her children and grandchildren. She prioritized creating strong bonds within her family circle—providing love, support, and guidance to each generation. Her grandchildren particularly adored their grandma, finding warmth and solace in her nurturing presence.

 

She is preceded in death by the father of her children, Nestor Hinojosa, Sr.; grandson, Noeh Bazan; parents, Jacinto and Maria Garcia; sisters, Hortencia Juarez and Guadalupe Garcia; brothers, Alberto Garcia, Valentin Garcia, Manuel Garcia, Lupe Garcia, Daniel Garcia, and Esteban Garcia.

 

Among those left to cherish her memory are her children, Nora Hinojosa and Nestor Hinojosa, Jr.; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

 

The family will receive condolences on Friday, August 25, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 9 p.m. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary; with a prayer service to begin at 7:00 p.m.  A chapel service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary.  A Rite of committal and interment will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
