Genoveva De La Rosa

Genoveva R. De La Rosa, 88, was called home to be with the Lord, on December 6, 2019 in Corpus Christi.  She was born on March 29, 1931 in Mercedes, Texas to Jose Maria and Rita Rios.

A woman of great worth, irreplaceable and priceless in value.  Her life was and is our blessing.  As our matriarch she began our circle, instilling values and teaching us how to live.  Her life was a living example of strength and love.  It is because of her our circle is stronger.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Rita; husband, Jose Aurelio De La Rosa; siblings, Gregoria Herrera, Esperanza Garza, Raul Rios; and grandson, Johnny Orlando De La Rosa.

She is survived by her children, Lupita (Israel)  Barrera, Joe De La Rosa, Ode (Eddie) Moreno, Mary (Jose Rolando) Ochoa, Eva (Clemente) Bentancourt, Juan De La Rosa, Dalinda (Aniceto)  Garcia, Robert De La Rosa, Frank (Josie)De La Rosa; stepmother, Manuela Rios; siblings, Amelia Salinas, Dalia Rojas, Ofelia Gonzales, Maria Rios, Alfredo Rios, Estevan Rios, Juan Rios, Jose Maria Rios, Jr., Jose Manuel Rios, Lupita Guerrero, Olivia Vega, Dionicia Muenzler, 25 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and step grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 5 to 9 PM with a Rosary at 7 PM at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in Kingsville. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St. Gertrude Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Santa Gertrudis Memorial Cemetery.
