Francisco "Pancho" B. Garcia

Francisco B. Garcia, known by friends and loved ones as Frank or Pancho, was called home by the Lord on January 17, 2024, at the age of 91. Born on July 24, 1932, in Bishop, Texas, Frank lived a life filled with love, generosity, and humility. He was a man of strong faith who dedicated himself to serving the Lord, his family, and helping others.

Serving in the US Army during the Korean War was one of Frank's proudest accomplishments. He bravely served his country and made sacrifices that will always be remembered. Following his service to our country, Frank had a remarkable career as a farmer for 50 years and retired at the age of 75. His passion for farming was evident as he reveled in his work with his beloved John Deere. His expertise and dedication were admired by all who knew him. Beyond his career, Frank was a Christian loving family man. He made it a point to attend mass every Sunday, and any of his grandkids' sporting events and always showed unwavering support for their pursuits. His presence brought joy to their lives and created lasting memories. One of the defining characteristics of Frank was his commitment to the Lord and his willingness to help others. He could often be found at church, hospitals, or nursing homes, reading scripture, anointing the sick, and praying for anyone who needed healing. His acts of kindness were heartfelt and brought comfort to those in need. Frank possessed a diverse range of skills and was truly a person who could do passable work at various tasks: a handy resourceful person. In addition to his farming expertise, he had a passion for animal rescue, fishing, yardwork, and gardening. He also proudly supported the Dallas Cowboys and followed their every game with enthusiasm, win or lose.

Frank was preceded in death by his beloved wife Olivia J. Garcia, their son Francisco "Frankie" Garcia Jr., his siblings Estorigia Garcia Garza, Eugenio Garcia, and Maria Christina Garcia, his parents Buenaventura and Aniceta Garcia, and his grandson-in law Daniel Lee Alvarez.

Among those left to cherish his memory are his family, including his children Rosabel G. Garza (Ernesto), Gilbert Garcia (Lupita), Dalia Cavazos (Julian), and Belinda Haag (Steven). He also leaves behind cherished grandchildren: Angelica Barrera (Gavino), Ernesto Garza Jr., Valerie Garcia, Aniella Garza, Vanessa Cavazos, Julian Frank Cavazos (Michelle), Alexia Garcia, Alejandra Garcia (Adan Beltran), Dacia Cavazos (Lexi Hernandez), Montana Garcia, and his grand-fur baby Chico Haag. Frank's siblings Pedro Garcia, Blanca Zavala, Dora Garcia, David Garcia, Maria Elena Sendejo, Alicia Garcia, Robert Garcia, and Gina Garcia will forever hold him dear in their hearts. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Lola Garcia, Teresa Garcia, and Delia Garcia, 19 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

The services to honor Frank's life will be held at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in Kingsville, Texas. The visitation will take place on January 26th commencing at 5:00 PM, with a holy rosary to begin at 7:00 PM. On the following day, January 27th at 10:00 AM, a Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Kingsville, Texas. Following the Mass, interment will take place at St. James Cemetery in Bishop, Texas.

Frank leaves behind a legacy of kindness, love, and faith. His memory will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have known him. Although we mourn his loss deeply, let us also remember the joy he brought to our lives and celebrate the remarkable person that he was. May he rest in eternal peace.
