Eustorgio "Buddy" Flores, Jr.

Eustorgio "Buddy" Flores, Jr. graced our lives with his unwavering kindness and a heartfelt devotion to family and faith. Born on August 22, 1936, Buddy left this world on December 11, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving behind a legacy that will forever inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.

For an impressive 32 years, he dedicated himself as a Maintenance Supervisor at Texas A&I University, where he was recognized not just for his work ethic, but for the warmth he brought into the lives of coworkers and students alike. There was a sparkle in his eye when he talked about his family; spending time with his children, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren always filled his heart with joy. Buddy understood that these moments were precious, cherishing every laugh, story, and milestone shared with his loved ones.

Buddy was more than just a devoted family man; he was a pillar of his community, an active member of St. Joseph Parish, and a proud Eucharist minister. His commitment to serving others was evident in his work with the sick and elderly, providing a comforting presence during their times of need. He and his wife found great joy in bringing the Eucharist to the homebound, embodying the spirit of compassion that defined his life.

His deep faith was mirrored in all he did, and his kind, welcoming nature drew people to him. A dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus, Buddy spent many joyful hours volunteering at bingo nights, delighted by the company of friends and the simple joys of community.

Buddy Flores lived a full life marked by love, generosity, and service. He leaves behind a family forever grateful for the wisdom and the love he shared. His spirit will continue to guide and inspire them. As we remember Eustorgio "Buddy" Flores, Jr., let us carry forward the values he instilled in us and honor his memory by embracing kindness and community in our own lives.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Flores; grandson, Frank Flores; parents, Eustorgio and Paulita Flores; and siblings, Eva Silva, Adan Flores, Lina Chapa, Mary Mata, Yolanda Maxwell, Lupita Flores, Alberto Flores, Ester Flores, and Estella Perez.

Among those left to cherish his memory are his children, Judy (Tommy) Thompson, Noe Flores, Andy (Yvonne) Flores, and Albert (Ruby Garcia) Flores; caregiver, Alicia De La Paz; siblings, Robert Flores and Margarita Flores; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

The family will receive condolences at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary; with a prayer service to take place at 10:00 a.m. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. A rite of committal and interment will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
