Esperanza Rodriguez, a beacon of warmth and love, peacefully passed away on June 9, 2025, in her cherished hometown of Kingsville, Texas. Born on November 29, 1932, Esperanza was the devoted daughter of Guadalupe and Josefa Rangel Garcia. Throughout her life, she embraced every moment with joy and compassion, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

From a young age, Esperanza dedicated herself to nurturing others. Her journey began as a medication aide before she blossomed into a Certified Nursing Assistant, embodying the essence of care and kindness throughout her career. In addition to her noble profession, she expressed her artistry as a skilled seamstress, lovingly crafting debutant dresses and clothing for her daughter, showcasing her devotion not just to her family’s needs, but also to their dreams and milestones.

She was a guiding light and loving mother figure to her grandson Francisco "Frankie" Garza and her great-granddaughter Alyssa Renae Rodriguez, and cherished spending time with her family, enjoying gatherings, cooking, and sharing memorable trips. She was also passionate about maintaining meaningful friendships, often visiting casinos and indulging in her favorite telenovelas—activities that reflected her vibrant spirit and zest for life.

Esperanza's family was of utmost importance to her. She is survived by her children, Gustavo Rodriguez and Glinda R. (Martin) Utley, as well as her nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Esperanza is also survived by her siblings Englantina Martinez, Ester Mendietta, Guadalupe Garcia Jr., and Jose Rene Garcia.

She is reunited in eternal rest with her beloved husband, Gilberto "Abundio" Rodriguez, whom she was married to for 58 years, along with her son Gilberto Rodriguez Jr., her parents, Guadalupe Garcia and Josefa Rangel Garcia, her sister Estella Flores, and her great-great-grandchild Eli Santiago.

Visitation services will be held at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in Kingsville, Texas, on June 13, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, followed by a Rosary starting at 7:00 PM. The funeral service will take place the next day, June 14, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM, followed by interment at Santa Gertrudis Cemetery at 11:15 AM.
