Enrique "Henry" Cantu

Enrique "Henry" Cantu, born on June 27, 1967, in Kingsville, Texas, passed away on December 14, 2025, at the age of 58. Henry will be remembered as a devoted husband and a loving father, who lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to his family. He was a kind and welcoming individual, always making those around him feel at ease with his warm demeanor and infectious sense of humor. Known for his cheerful spirit, Henry was a jokester who had the unique ability to brighten any room he entered.

Throughout his life, Henry held his family close to his heart, affectionately referring to his beloved wife and children as his “punks.” He found immense joy in spending quality time with his loved ones, often sharing his passion for cooking delicious meals, especially barbecues, which became a cherished tradition. His ability to bring people together through food and song was a testament to his warm and generous nature.

Henry's legacy is one of genuine kindness, as he was a person who never met a stranger. His loving spirit and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hilario G. Cantu Jr.; mother, Juanita H. Cantu; and sister, Oralia Sifuentes.

Among those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 37 years, Sira Cantu; children, Enrique “EJ” Cantu, Jr. and Candace Marie Cantu; siblings, Hilario Cantu III (Sandra), Odilia Trevino, Rebecca Munoz (Rene), Irma Garcia (Tino), Victor Cantu, Virginia Bueno (Oscar), and Susie Ferdinand; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

The family will receive condolences from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary; with a eulogy to begin at 7:00 p.m. Services will conclude that evening.
