Elva Hinojosa

Elva Carrales Hinojosa, 86, passed away on March 19, 2019 in Alice, Texas. She was born on January 18, 1933 to Higinio and Amalia Carrales in Kingsville, Texas. Elva was the strength of our family, she loved us all in a very special way. She worked with KISD in the school cafeteria and later with CCISD where she retired. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her late husband Raul Hinojosa, Sr., her son Raul Hinojosa, Jr. and her brother Gene Carrales.
She is survived by five daughters, Amy (Mark) Hughes, Alma (Santos) Gonzales, Sally (Pete) Pardo, Elva (Ruben) Alaniz and Norma (Andy) Tamez; one son, Oscar (Diana) Hinojosa; two sisters, Evelyn Carrales Ramirez and Raquel Carrales-Thomas; 23 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 1 great great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin's Catholic Church followed by a luncheon at St. Martin's Parish Hall at 504 E. Ella.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary.
