Elizabeth Valenzuela passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 28, 2026 at the age of 50. She was born on September 27, 1975 in Corpus Christi, TX to the late Jose de Jesus Valenzuela and Maria Concepcion Valenzuela and was raised in Premont, TX. After high school she moved to Corpus Christi to attend school and work.

As a student at Premont High School she enjoyed playing basketball and playing with the mariachi. She loved collecting Coca Cola memorabilia. Later in life she found an interest in cooking, often chatting with her mom or watching over her shoulder to borrow her recipes and would often write them down on paper to later try them at home.

She was affectionately known as Liz or Lizzard to many of her friends and family. She was employed by Nueces County Community Supervision and Corrections Department and had dedicated over 22 years of service. Elizabeth enjoyed the pace and responsibilities that came with her job as an indirect supervision coordinator but what she loved the most was the close friendships she developed with her co-workers. Her co-workers became a part of her close-knit family. If anyone in the office was celebrating a birthday or special milestone, she was ready to celebrate those special moments with them.

Elizabeth had a big heart for cats and dogs. She was a magnet for stray cats and dogs who could sense her loving nature. She would often feed and care for them while she found forever homes for them. It was always hard to remember their names since some of these would be under her care for a just a few months.

You could always tell when the NFL season was about to open because Liz would begin to wear her favorite Dallas Cowboys jerseys and caps. She knew their schedule and would always plan her days very carefully because she hardly ever missed a game. Win or lose, She Loved Them Boys!

She is survived by her mother Concepcion Valenzuela, sister Cristina Briseño (Miguel) of Kingsville. Nephews Victor Manuel Briseño of Killeen, TX and Luis Carlos Briseño (Zoe) and their children Miguel Agustin and Francisco Javier of Kingsville, TX and uncles, aunts and cousins from Guadalajara, Jalisco and California.

To honor and celebrate Elizabeth's life, a visitation will take place on September 3, 2026 beginning at 8:30 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel. This will be followed by a rosary at 10:00 AM and a Mass led by Father Paulson at 10:45 AM. A graveside service will take place at Chamberlain Cemetery immediately following the Mass. All arrangements are in the care of Turcotte-Piper Mortuary.
