In Loving Memory of Elida P. Ramos

Elida P. Ramos was 89 when she passed away peacefully on September 23, 2026. She was born on December 18, 1936, in Kingsville to Felix and Virginia Perez.

Elida was defined by love, faith, family, and kindness. She was a devoted Christian woman who carried her faith in her heart and shared her love generously with everyone around her. She loved traveling, playing Lotería, dancing, cooking, crafting, gardening, and visiting the casino.

Elida was a wonderful and devoted wife. She treasured the 64 years she shared with her beloved husband, Roberto, and cherished the memories they made together. Traveling was one of her greatest joys, especially when she could share those adventures with Roberto and her family. Their love and partnership were a beautiful part of her life.

Elida was also a loving and devoted mother. Her family was her greatest treasure, and nothing brought her more happiness than having her loved ones close.

She was more than a grandma to her grandchildren —she was a source of laughter, comfort, love, and countless wonderful memories. She was the kind of grandma who made ordinary moments special and cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events. She loved having fun with her family and creating memories they will carry with them forever.

As a great-grandmother, Elida’s heart seemed to grow even bigger. She adored her great-grandchildren and treasured every moment she was able to spend with them. Her love, warmth, and laughter will forever be a part of their lives.

Elida was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roberto Ramos; her son, Eden Ramos; her parents, Felix and Virginia Perez; her brothers, Alvaro Perez, Adan Perez, Felix Perez Jr., Arturo Perez, and Armando Perez; and her sisters, Maria Sanchez, Kina Odom, Angelina Bailey, and Angelica Rios.

Left to cherish her beautiful memory are her daughters, Selina Benavides (Roel), Linda Garcia (Oscar), and Sandra Charles (Ben); her grandchildren, Hope Ramos, Nikki Garcia, Natalie Martinez, Viktoria Reyes, Joshua Ramos, Benjamin Charles, and Andrea Garcia; and her great-grandchildren, Ava Suazo, Gabriella Garcia, Joaquin Garcia, Adahlia Reyes, Camillo Reyes, Oceana Suazo, Blake Charles, Everly Martinez, and Blaine Charles.

The family will receive condolences from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at St. Martins Catholic Church. A rite of committal and interment will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Elida’s caregivers, Maria Alaniz and Larenda McRoberts, for the care, kindness, patience, and compassion they provided to her.

Pallbearers are Tom Reyes, Bert Garcia, Benjamin Charles, Roman Martinez, Joshua Ramos and Gilbert Rios. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Joaquin Garcia, Camillo Reyes, and Blaine Charles.

Elida’s love was a gift to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her family will miss her deeply, but they will carry her in their hearts.
