Eglantina Barrera

Eglantina “Gante” Barrera, 91, passed away on August 31, 2019 in Kingsville, Texas. She was born on November 26, 1927 to Juan and Maria Garza.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Maria; husband, Roberto Alfredo Barrera, Sr.; and sister, Maria “Gloria” Carrillo.

She is survived by her sons, John (Sharon) Barrera, Robert “Bob” (Donna) Barrera, Jr.; brother, Juan (Ofelia) Garza; grandchildren, Derrick (Lacy) Barrera, Simonie (Eric) Hansen; Justin Barrera, Steven Barrera, Sara (Emir Yener) Barrera; and great grandchildren, Alayna Silva, and Kaydee Barrera.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Interment will follow at a later date at New Bern National Cemetery in New Bern, North Carolina.
