Dorothy Louise Schwirtlich was born on May 15, 1929, to Henry and Otilda Tischler in Violet, Texas.
She married Leo Schwirtlich on April 6, 1948 and raised two children. She worked at Allens Furniture Company for 15 years and retired to enjoy her growing family. She was a long-time member of Saint Gertrude Catholic Church. She loved music and dancing. She spent many days and nights fishing along side Leo at their beach house in Loyola Bay.
She is preceded in death by her parents, all but one sibling and her beloved husband.
She spent countless hours behind her sewing machine making and fixing anything anyone needed. She made many quilts, throws, and pillowcases for anyone in need.
She also spent many hours in her kitchen cooking not only for her family but also for church events and friends.
She cherished her family and her faith. She went to be with the Lord on January 4th resting peacefully surrounded by her family and friends. She was a very special lady and will be missed by all that knew her.
