Dorothy Fling

Dorothy Nell Fling, age 88, went home to be with our Lord on July 30, 2021. Dorothy was born to Ody and Nell York Lillard on May 17, 1933, in Kingsville, TX.

She lived most her life in Bishop, TX, where she met her high school sweetheart, Bobby Fling. They married in 1951, and Dorothy worked alongside her husband at the City Lumber Company while raising her children. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bishop and was very active in the church and the community. Dorothy will be remembered for her kindness, love for her family and ability to strike up a conversation with any stranger.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Fling, and son, Steve Fling, as well as her parents.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter Kathy Fling (Randy Kight); Son, Danny Fling (Nelda Fling); as well as 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at The First Baptist Church in Bishop, TX from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. The Funeral Service will begin at 1:00pm, Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery in Bishop, TX.
