Dorothy M. Castañeda 49, peacefully passed away at her home on October 15, 2022, in Kingsville, Tx. She was born on March 27, 1973, to Jose and Diana Mendoza. The baby of 3 siblings.    

    She attended school in Kingsville, Tx. Worked several fast-food restaurants and spent the remaining of her years working as a home health provider, mainly for her mother.    

    She was an avid softball player; it was her passion. A woman of strong Catholic faith, whose most important priority in life was raising her two sons Diego and Joey and loving them both endlessly.    

    Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Mendoza in 2012 and her mother Diana Mendoza in 2020, and numerous family members.    

    Among those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Diego Rios 19, and Joseph Mendoza 17; brother, John Ray Mendoza; sister-in-law, Lisa Alaniz; sister, Debra Mendoza; nieces, Denise (Omar) Garcia and Deanne (Robert) Ortegon; and nephews, John R. Mendoza and Joe O. Mendoza.    

    The family will receive condolences on Monday, October 24, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM at Turcotte Piper Mortuary. A Liturgy will be on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
