Obituary

Donna Wallace, 70, of Bishop, Texas, passed away on July 12, 2026. Donna was born on May 8, 1956, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Raymond and Clara Candelaria. She grew up in Cortez, Colorado.

She later met the love of her life, Jerry Wallace, and together they built a life rooted in love, family, and community. After spending a short time in Colorado, they made Bishop, Texas, their home, where they raised their two sons, Cody and Michael. Donna and Jerry became deeply woven into the Bishop community, supporting their boys and embracing the spirit of the Bishop Badgers. Their pride in their sons was evident to everyone, and both Cody and Michael were honored as Ronnie Bull Award recipients, a testament to the character, leadership, and values that Donna and Jerry instilled in them.

Above all else, Donna was a devoted mother. Her greatest joy was her sons, Cody &  Michael. She poured her heart into them with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Donna had a gift for making people feel welcome. She never met a stranger and had an incredible ability to turn new acquaintances into lifelong friends. Her infectious laugh, generous spirit, and joyful personality left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her laughter was unmistakable, and those who loved her will hear it in their memories for years to come.

She found happiness in life's simple pleasures. Whether she was gathered around a table playing bingo, cribbage, or dominoes, curled up with a good book, or enjoying a true crime documentary, Donna appreciated the moments that brought people together and made life rich with connection.

Donna is survived by her beloved sons, Cody Wallace (Faren Von Duben) and Michael (Robyn) Wallace. She is also survived by her siblings, Yvonne Candelaria and Paul Candelaria; her nieces and nephews, Michelle (Brett) Candelaria-Dunstan, Raymond(Celeste) Donaldson, and Kadie Donaldson; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Allyssa (Davis) Tyrrell, Michael (Mackenzi) Dunstan, Bailee Dunstan, Marie Donaldson, Fernando (Madison) Jurado, Marissa Ritthaler, Kincaid (Cybil) Donaldson, Kaimon (Leah) Donaldson, and Klacyee Donaldson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Wallace; her parents, Raymond and Clara Candelaria; her brother, Remijio Candelaria; her sister, Connie Klingler; and many other cherished family members and dear friends.

Donna's mark that is left is one of unconditional love, deep friendships, contagious laughter, and a life lived with an open heart. She will be profoundly missed by her family, her friends, and the countless lives she touched.

A visitation in her memory will be held on July 18, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a Celebration of Life taking place at 1:00 PM at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary.
