Delma Garza Rios, age 50, went to be with Our Lord on November 17, 2018, with her loving family by her side. She was born on July 8, 1968 to Juan A. and Melba Gonzales Garza, Jr. in Kingsville, Texas
Delma was a native of Kingsville, Texas and was a well known radio personality in South Texas. She started her career at KCCT KBSO which later on became Club 98.3 FM. and was Arbitron rated #1 morning show. Delma's talent and morning show was later brought to Majic Tejano 104.9 FM and KBAY in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was loved by all her radio fans and was a true professional broadcaster. She also worked for Zales and Gordons Jewelers. She took pride in her work and dedication to her trade. She was loved and will be missed by all whom loved and knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one son Mathew Herrera, one brother, Hector Garza and brother-in-law Santiago De La Paz, Jr.
She survived by her husband, Octavio Rios, Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas; two sisters, Mary Jane (Frank) Prado of Ricardo, Texas; and Norma De La Paz of Corpus Christi, Texas; two brothers, Johnny (Sylvia) Garza of Pharr, Texas; and Frank (Lorena) Garza of McAllen, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Turcotte Piper Mortuary. A Prayer Service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Templo Betel Assembly of God Church 628 E. Richard St. Kingsville, Texas 78363. Burial will follow at Santa Gertrudis Memorial Cemetery in Kingsville, Texas.
