Delfino Cruz Jr.

Delfino Cruz Jr., 72, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones and went to be with the Lord on July 12, 2023. He was born in Bishop, Texas, on July 22, 1950.  

Delfino, who got his strength from the Lord, will be remembered for his kind heart, patience, compassion, generosity, and integrity.  He was devoted to and cared deeply for his family. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, watching boxing, drawing, music, and the Dallas Cowboys.  He loved spending time with loved ones. He was hard-working  and dedicated many years to working at the Celanese Bishop Plant.  

He is preceded in death by his wife, Yolanda Silva Cruz, his parents Delfino Cruz Sr. and Hortencia Cruz, and various siblings: Hortencia (Tomas) Herrera, Esmeralda (Jesus) Suarez, Estella (Bill McBride) Cruz, and Dora Lee Cruz.  

His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his children, whom he raised and loved as his own: Norma (J.J.) Perez, Robert (Sylvia) Trevino, Velinda (John) Sanchez, Lupe (Belinda) Trevino, Geneva (Jose) Garcia, and Sandra (Jose Luis) Cruz.  He will also be dearly missed by his only surviving sibling, Rosario (Arnulfo) Rodriguez, twenty-four grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.  

Visitation will be on Monday, July 17, 2023, at 10:00 AM, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, followed by a chapel service at 11:00 PM. Interment to follow at Kingsville Resthaven Cemetery at 12:00 PM.
