Daniel 'Mike' Saldaña

Daniel ‘Mike’ Saldaña, passed away surrounded by his loved ones after a battle with multiple sclerosis on June 6, 2023, at the age of 44.  He was born on August 19, 1978 in Kingsville, Tx to Daniel Saldaña and Elma Zamora.  Daniel was a huge wrestling fan; he would light up when reliving his trips to WrestleMania and had a vast knowledge of wrestling entertainment history.  He was protective and loyal, someone who always stood up for his family and friends. Daniel loved everyone unconditionally; however, his two favorite people were his nephews.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Maria; grandfather, Cipirano ‘Piano’ Escobedo; grandparents, Juan & Manuela Saldaña; uncles, Cipriano ‘Cippy’ Escobedo, Ramiro ‘Flaco’ Saldaña, Rodrigo ‘Rody’ Saldaña, Juan Saldaña Jr; aunts, Dominga ‘Minga’ Galvan, Maria ‘Mary’ Garcia

Among those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 14 years, Misty Ann Saldaña; father, Daniel A Saldaña; mother, Elma (Gabriel) Zamora; brother, Carlos ‘Chuck’ Saldaña; sister, Anna Lisa (Dylan ‘Cuñado’) Garza; grandmother, Petra ‘Pita’ Escobedo; nephews, Jonah and Diego Garza; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

The family will recieve condolences on Tuesday, June 13, 2023,  from 5:00pm - 9:00pm;  with holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. A Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at St. Joseph the worker Catholic Church. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Santa Gertrudis cemetery.
