Dale Yaklin, a man redeemed by Jesus Christ and steadfast in his love for God, his family, and his country, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, at the age of 88.
Dale was born on November 23, 1937, to Neal and Hilda Yaklin and grew up in Vattman, Texas. From an early age, he developed the values that would guide his life—faith, hard work, humility, and devotion to family. Known affectionately as “Pops” by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Dale was a gentle and caring soul whose quiet strength and kindness touched all who knew him.
In his youth, Dale proudly served his country as a U.S. Army veteran, spending much of his service overseas in Germany. His love for America never wavered, and he carried his sense of duty and integrity into every chapter of his life.
Dale was first and foremost a devoted husband and family man. He shared a deep and enduring love with his first wife, Loretta Strubhart Yaklin, the love of his life. Together they built a strong foundation of faith and family, raising six sons and creating a home filled with love, laughter, and values rooted in God. After Loretta’s passing, Dale walked the difficult road of widowhood with grace and faith, trusting God through seasons of loss.
In time, Dale was blessed with love once again through his marriage to Juanita Hubert Yaklin. With an open heart, he embraced not only Juanita but the entire Hubert family, considering them his own and treasuring the companionship and joy this second chapter brought to his life.
A retired welder, Dale was known for his strong work ethic and generous spirit. He found joy in the outdoors and took pleasure in metalworking, woodworking, bird watching, traveling, and most of all, spending time with his family. Some of his most cherished memories were made on Frio River trips, family vacations to Branson, Alaska, Hawaii, and cruising the Caribbean—moments filled with togetherness and gratitude.
Dale was preceded in death by his beloved wives, Loretta Strubhart Yaklin and Juanita Hubert Yaklin; his parents, Neal and Hilda Yaklin; and his brothers, Gene and Gerald Yaklin.
He is survived by his six sons: Tommy (Sissie) Yaklin, David (Michaele) Yaklin, Roy Yaklin, Terry (Dana) Yaklin, Billy (Margie) Yaklin, and Randy Yaklin. He leaves behind eleven cherished grandchildren: Teran (Brett) Hall, Derek (Amelia) Yaklin, Katherine Torres, Keith (Courtney) Yaklin, Chelsey (Christian) Guilliams, Kevin Yaklin, Bethany Hodge, Dustin (Savannah) Yaklin, Lauren (Austin) Sanders, Sarah (Isander) Espinosa-Lebron, and Hayden Yaklin, along with twelve beloved great-grandchildren: Thomas, Michael, Zelda, Rorik, Aria,
Natalie, Alice, Kayden, Kayleigh, Adaline, Lane, and one precious great-grandchild on the way.
He’s also survived by seven siblings, Phillip Yaklin, Louis (Carolyn) Yaklin, Lenard Yaklin, Woody Yaklin, Annamarie (Jim) Grossman and Kenny (Trish) Yaklin and numerous nieces and nephews.
Through his marriage to Juanita, Dale was also blessed with bonus children Roger (Cheryl) Hubert, Tracy (John) Beadle, Skeeter (Bonnie) Hubert, and Scott (Helen) Hubert, along with 15 bonus-grandchildren and 6 bonus-great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved deeply.
The family will receive condolences from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary; with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A celebration of life for Dale Yaklin will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at the First Baptist Church in Kingsville, Texas; a burial will follow at Our Lady of Consolation Cemetery at Vattmann.
Dale’s life was a testimony of faith, perseverance, and unconditional love. His legacy of devotion, generosity, and quiet strength will continue to live on through the many generations he leaves behind. The joy and warmth he brought into the lives of others will never be forgotten.
