Dagoberto Cavazos

Dagoberto " Dago" Cavazos, age 77, was called home on May 3, 2019, while surrounded by his loving children and grandchildren. He was born on January 8, 1942, in Alice, Texas to Leoncio Cavazos and Gertrudis Villarreal Cavazos. Dago was a Private in the United States Army where he received a National Defense Service Medal and was a Rifle M-14 Sharpshooter. He was one of 10 brothers and sisters, all of which he shared talent and passion for music and serving the Lord. Dago used his talents to serve as a parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Martin Catholic Church, where he played his guitar, lead/played/sang in the choir, and used his skills as a handy-man to maintain the church grounds. He retired from the Kleberg County Courthouse, where he worked as a maintenance man or over 25 years. Dago was a quiet, humble man, who needed not speak much to touch peoples' lives. He was a phenomenal problem solver; a creative man who can build anything from nothing, often selflessly aiding others in fixing whatever needed fixing. He was tasked with single-handedly raised four children, and proudly aided in raising five grandchildren. His deep love for the Lord and his grandchildren inspired many.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leoncio Cavazos Jr., Jesus "Chuy" Cavazos, Marcelo Cavazos, Mario Cavazos, and Luis Guillermo Cavazos; two sisters, Maria Apolonia Cavazos and Hilda C. Jasso.

Survived by his beloved children; Juan Dagoberto Cavazos and Ricky Ricardo Cavazos both of Alice, TX., Terry Resendez (Oscar Resendez) and Ramon Cavazos both of Kingsville, TX.; grandchildren, Tiffany Rae Trevino, Claudia M. Trevino, Nathaniel Cavazos, Noah D. Resendez, Ava Rose Resendez all of Kingsville, TX and many others who he loved like grandchildren of his own; 2 sisters, Amparo Lopez and Maria de la Luz Cavazos both of Alice, TX.
