Cynthia Wilkerson

Cynthia Linn Wilkerson, 62, passed away on May 19, 2019 in Kingsville, Texas. She was born on January 30, 1957 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Harvey Aaron and Virginia Ann Smith.
Cindy was a beloved wife and mother. Her greatest joys in life were her family and service to others. She was known well for encouraging continuing nursing education. Many nurses over the coastal bend have called her mentor, boss, mom, and friend. Cindy leaves behind a legacy of love and service to others.
Cindy enjoyed traveling the world. She frequently told stories of Hawaii and her shark encounter, of Africa and the lions, and the cruise to Alaska with gold mining with her mother and father. She and her husband enjoyed multiple trips together including Boston and Martha's Vineyard and they shared Caribbean cruises over their time together.
While building her nursing career and encouraging others along the way Cindy raised three daughters as a single mother. Her girl's future was always her primary focus and up until her passing she expressed great pride in their accomplishments and successes. She was especially proud of being a grandmother, being "Dami". The love her daughters share with her grandchildren is a true reflection of the love and commitment she had for her family. She will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her mother, and one brother, David Smith.
Cynthia is survived by her father, Harvey Aaron Smith; husband, Mark Wilkerson; three daughters, Tamara Reyna (Hector Jr.), Jennifer Urban (Travis), Joanna Scheible (Cody); nine grandchildren, Tyler, Hunter, Colton, Lazaro, Westin, Trevor, Trace, Cross, Amara; and one brother, Jay Smith.
A Celebration of Cynthia's life will begin with a Visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2019 at First Baptist Church Kingsville. Burial will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery,
