Curtis
Lawson
June 23, 1962 – March 30, 2026
Curtis Lynn Lawson of Kingsville, Texas, born June 23, 1962, passed away on March 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Curtis was truly one of a kind—a man whose spirit could not be contained. He was outgoing, strong-willed, and wonderfully free-spirited, with a heart big enough to help anyone in need—especially on a day when his patience allowed it. He lived life unapologetically on his own terms and had a way of becoming the center of every gathering. Wherever there was laughter, music, and especially his favorite hits from the 1980s, Curtis was sure to be found enjoying every second.
He found joy in life’s simple pleasures: fishing at sunrise, hunting in the quiet outdoors, riding his motorcycle with the wind at his back, and fixing anything he could get his hands on. Yet above all else, Curtis loved his family. His daughters were his pride and joy, and nothing meant more to him than being “Papa.” He never missed an opportunity to cheer on Kason and Kenlee at their games, always their loudest and proudest supporter.
Curtis was preceded in death by his father, Robert James Lawson; his brother, Rodney Lawson; and his sister, Cheri Lawson.
He is lovingly survived by his mother, Leila Lawson; his brother, Terry (Kay) Lawson; his daughters, Hannah (Kayla) Oliveira and Heather (Abby) Lawson; and his cherished grandchildren, Kason and Kenlee Lawson, with one more precious grandchild on the way. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who adored him.
Curtis will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality, his stubborn strength, his sense of humor, and the boundless love he gave so freely. The memories he created will live on in every shared story, every burst of laughter, and every song that brings him to mind.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
