Craig Adam West

It is with deep sorrow and profound respect that we announce the passing of Craig Adam West, born on June 10, 1963, whose vibrant spirit and boundless generosity left an indelible mark upon all who were fortunate to cross his path. Craig passed away on October 4, 2025, at the age of 62 leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by his family, friends, and the countless lives he enriched along his remarkable journey.

A proud graduate of Riviera High School, class of 1981, Craig excelled not only in academics but also within the realm of athletics, being an esteemed member of the 1979 baseball state championship team where he shone both as a centerfielder and a second baseman. His passion for the sport carried him to Bee County College, continuing to make his mark as a Cougar on the baseball diamond.

A man of remarkable strength and an indomitable spirit, Craig was a beloved fishing guide on Baffin Bay and in Port Mansfield from 1993 to the present, where he shared not only his expertise but also his infectious passion for the outdoors with countless anglers. In addition to his guiding pursuits, Craig served as the Chief Operating Officer and Co-Owner of Complete Foundation Repair, formerly known as Uretek, ICR, since 2004, embodying dedication and integrity in every endeavor.

Craig's zest for life was matched only by his outgoing and charismatic personality; he was a man who could light up any room and never met a stranger. Fondly known as the “goat whisperer,” his natural affinity for connecting with others was evident in every aspect of his life—from the compelling tales shared during a fishing excursion to the invaluable lessons imparted in the many roles he cherished: a beloved father, a devoted husband, and a cherished uncle to his nieces and nephews.

He found unparalleled joy in the miracle of family, celebrating the births of his children, Caleb and Madison, with an excitement that resonated through their lives. Hundreds of livestock shows attended with his children and their stock show family exemplified not just his competitive spirit, but more importantly, his unwavering support and love for their endeavors. Craig approached each day with laughter, kindness, and an open heart, weaving moments of joy into the fabric of his family’s life.

Beyond fishing and business, Craig treasured gatherings with family and friends, creating lasting memories. On occasion, he enjoyed binge-watching marathons of "Deadliest Catch," "Gold Rush," and a myriad of Netflix shows. His desire for sharing happiness was matched only by his eagerness to offer his time and talents to those in need, embodying a spirit of generosity that resonated throughout his community.

In this moment of loss, we reflect on Craig’s proudest accomplishments: his devoted family, the establishment of his successful guide service, and the relationships fostered through both foundation repair and interpersonal connection. As we embark upon life without him, we will carry forward his lessons in kindness, his love of laughter, and the extraordinary way he approached every interaction with a remarkable depth of compassion.

Craig Adam West will be profoundly missed, yet his spirit, defined by love and brightened by laughter, will continue to inspire us as we navigate a world made better by his presence. May he forever rest in peace, a guiding star shining brightly in our hearts.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Jean Zahn and Ruth Helpert West; brother, Tim Zahn; paternal grandparents, Frank and Nedra West; and maternal grandparents, Jacob and Gertrude Zahn.

Among those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 34 years, Lisa West; children, Caleb West and Madison West; father, James Carroll West; siblings, Cobin West, Cydne (Bob) Reynolds and their children, Zach, Connor, and Hubba, Carla West and her children, Calvin and Matt Barker, Cathy (Nathan) Borden and their children, Haden, Hannah, and Peyton, Christy (Doug) Griffith and their children, Shelby and Bryce; in-laws, Bill (Karen) Arnold and Carolyn (Frank) Bonikowski; sisters-in-law, Denise Arnold and Denae (Andy) Litman and her daughter Olivia Ryman; numerous great nieces and nephews and many friends.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Craig’s remarkable life at a memorial service on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 10:30 AM, at First Baptist Church in Kingsville, Texas.
