Charles Edward (Chuck) Wissinger, aged 74, of Kingsville, Tx passed away on February 15th, 2020 in the dignity and comfort of his home in Kingsville.
Chuck was born in Windber, Pennsylvania to Harvey Clifford Wissinger and Helen Clara McConnell on July 23, 1945. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Art Education from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Indiana, Pennsylvania in 1968. Chuck then went on to earn a Master of Fine Arts majoring in ceramics and minoring in sculpture and photography-cinematography from Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio in 1970. He worked as a Professor of Fine Arts studio courses in Elmira College in Elmira, New York, Red Deer College in Alberta, Canada, The University of Texas – Pan American, and most recently retiring from Texas A&M University – Kingsville in Kingsville, Tx in 2016 after 15 years of teaching. Chuck contributed much to TAMUK, holding various Chair and Director positions in the Art Department. His art, held in highest esteem, contributes to international collections; The Karacasu Foundation in Izmir, Turkey, The Museum of Applied Arts in Trondheim, Norway, and The Alberta Art Foundation in Edmonton, Alberta.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Fulden Sara Wissinger of Kingsville, Tx and his two sons Chris and Clint Wissinger. He is preceded in death by his parents Harvey Wissinger and Helen Mcconnell and his brother Raymond Wissinger.
A private service in celebration of Chuck’s life will be held this February, 2020 in Kingsville, Tx for his dear friends and loved ones.
