Carmen Castaneda

Carmen C. Castañeda, age 93, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Monday, April 30, 2018 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born July 16, 1924 in Sonora, México. Mrs. Castañeda was a faithful member of El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church, Kingsville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel C. Castañeda Jr.; and mother, Dolores Campista.
Mrs. Castañeda is survived by three daughters, Lucinda C. Leyva (Roy) and Dolores Castañeda, both of Kingsville, and Lydia Ester Southern of San Antonio, Texas; one son, Manuel Castañeda III of Kingsville; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2018 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. A prayer service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2018 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2018 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Ruben González Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Kingsville at Chamberlain Cemetery.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
