Carl Joseph Karnath, 93, of Kingsville, Texas passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, in Kingsville. He was born October 21, 1930, in Buffalo, New York to Bernard Karnath and Elsie Hartinger Karnath. Senior Chief Petty Officer Carl Joseph Karnath proudly served 23 years in the United States Navy. After retiring from the U.S. Navy in 1971, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Kingsville for 20 years as a letter carrier, retiring in 1991.
He is preceded in death by his wife Miyoko T. Karnath; brother, Edward J. Karnath Sr. and his wife Mildred “Becky” I. Karnath; sister, Bernice Aloysius and her husband Gilbert C. Aloysius.
Mr. Karnath is survived by his sons, Dr. Colin J. Karnath of Kingsville, Texas and Dr. Bernard M. Karnath (daughter-in-law, Dr. Julia Padilla Karnath) of Houston, Texas; and grandchildren, Nicole Karnath and Noah Karnath of Houston, Texas.
The family will receive condolences on Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary; with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A liturgy of the word will be celebrated on Monday, April 22, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in Kingsville. A rite of committal and interment with military honors will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas.
